Wengen Guide Hire
Some of the first English skiers were welcomed in Wengen many years ago and now they just keep coming back. With a village feel, the traffic-free centre is accessed by a small mountain railway and offer a range of shops, bars, and restaurants. Together Wengen and the Grindelwald offer over 158kms of marked pistes that although most suited to intermediate skiers, offer something for all abilities.
Wengen Mountain Guides
Although on-piste, Advanced skiers will find Wengen somewhat limited, there is extensive lift-accessible off piste available to keep everyone happy. The White Hare found beneath the Eigerwand is a fantastic run although checking the avalanche conditions beforehand is essential. Heading from the Jungfraujoch down to the Aletsch glacier offers some exceptional powder opportunities but due to glaciated nature of the area, the usual precautions must be taken. Due to the inherent dangers of skiing off piste, we recommend you hire a mountain guide in Wengen if you lack the technical ability, navigation skills, confidence or just don’t want the worry of leading a group down the mountain. If you cannot find a suitable guide listed above, we suggest you contact the Swiss Ski & Snowboard School in Wengen or Swiss Alpine Guides.
