Les Arcs Guide
Les Arcs is made up of several villages on different levels. A the bottom, the town of Bourg Saint Maurice in the valley is linked to the mountain via a funicular railway. This also provides access to the other towns at 1600, 1800, 1950 and 2000. Les Arcs also included the villages of Vallandry and Villaroger. The newest resort is found at 1950, and has a very much west coast USA mountain resort feel. Wherever you decide to stay, they are each well connected and provide great access to the skiing both on-piste and backcountry.
Mountain Guides in Les Arcs
There’s some fantastic off piste skiing and ski touring to be had in Les Arcs and the surrounding region. If you’re unfamiliar with the area and navigation or just prefer the security of having a local guide show you around, hire a ski guide in Les Arcs to explore safely. Popular off-piste includes the north face of the Aiguille Rouge towards Villaroger. The Couloir en S is particularly difficult with the Col du Génépi a somewhat safer descent. The Grand Col beneath the Aiguille is also a popular region to explore requiring some ski touring skills to skin across to reach the long descent again towards Villaroger. If you can’t find a Les Arcs mountain guide available above, we recommend you contact the local guide bureau or tourist board who will be able to point you in the right direction.
