La Plagne Guide Hire
La Plagne Resort Guide
Made up of ten connected villages, La Plagne has a 220 km piste network, within the Paradiski area. The traditional villages like Montchavin and Les Coches sit lower down the mountain, whilst the bigger and somewhat less easy on the eye towns of Plagne Centre, Bellecôte and Aime-la-Plagne are found around 2000m. These higher towns provide the best access to the limitless terrain. The construction of the new Vanoise express which links the resort to Les Arcs has created one of the largest ski areas in the world with over 420 km of piste to explore. Away from the slopes the purpose built resort offers lots of facilities and has enough bars and restaurants to keep the whole family entertained.
Hire a Ski Guide in La Plagne
There is plenty of fantastic off piste skiing to be had in La Plagne with or without a ski guide if you are capable and confident of your abilities but we always advise you to hire a guide if you are in any doubt. Some of the areas that hold the best off piste include: Roch de Mio, Grande Rochette, Le Biolley, Roc des Verdons and Belle Plagne. They each offer a mixture of bowls, faces and steep couloirs to suit varying abilities. Some of the couloirs can be very avalanche prone and there are also cliffs to look out for so hiring a mountain guide in La Plagne who has local knowledge of the terrain, weather, snow conditions and can manage a group, is worth the investment for an enjoyable yet safe day in the mountains whether ski touring or just skiing off piste.
