World Snow Report – 29th September 2015Comments Off
With October knocking at the door, Summer lift timetables closing or already closed and some significant snowfalls in the Alps over the past week, we thought a round-up of recent snow reports from around the world was due.
Time to dust off the gear and get ready for the winter season ahead.
Zermatt – Switzerland
With significant snow forecast between Wednesday and Friday, it’ll add significantly to the 145cm base already present at the summit. Great news for the Swiss resort.
Lake Louise – Canada
Lucky enough to have a number of early downfalls of snow since 6th September, there is excitement about the season ahead at Lake Louise but looking at the week ahead, with the freezing limit at over 3000m for the most part, they’re unlikely to see anything more than al little rainfall on Saturday. We’ll all be hoping that October brings with it colder conditions.
Hinterlux – Austria
With a base level of 60cm of snow currently, Hinterlux has little snow forecast for the week ahead. However, with plenty of sunshine on the cards, get out and make the most of the long autumn days.
Snowbird – Utah, USA
There have been a few early dustings in the Wasatch Mountain Range of late but with the rain – freeze limit sitting at over 3500m, the coming week won’t bear any fruit unfortunately.
